Why I started Wildground and what I was looking for when I did

For a long time I was looking for something I could not name.

I knew it was not another program. I had done programs. I knew it was not a plan with phases and a version of myself waiting at the finish line. I had done that, too.

What I kept looking for, and kept not finding, was someone who had actually been in the middle of it and come out the other side talking plainly. Someone who did not have it figured out neatly. Someone who said: here is what I tried, here is what held, here is what I keep coming back to. No system. No sales page underneath the honesty.

I could not find that. So I decided to write it.

Wildground is built around four things: herbs and the practical knowledge around them, food as a daily act of care, the rhythms that hold a life together, and the quieter work of returning to yourself after a long time away. These are not separate topics. They are different doors into the same place.

The writing here always starts with real experience. Something I tried, something that helped, something that did not. The goal is always to arrive somewhere useful, but it starts honest. That is the order things happen here.

There is nothing to buy. No protocol to follow. What I can offer is simpler and harder to name: what I noticed, in the order I noticed it, from inside an ordinary life that started to feel like mine again.
